1999 Jeep Cherokee suspension

Post by GRT » Sun Oct 21, 2012 8:22 pm

Hi all. I am new to off-roading and I have bought a 1999 Jeep Cherokee.

I need to lift my front suspension by around 2 inches. (I had new leafs fitted to the back a few weeks ago and the back now sits higher than the front). Is there a simple and easy way to do this?

Thanks.

GRT.

depends a bit where you are but probably 1st place to investigate is Jeep off road clubs, there are quite a few specialised clubs for these motors. Alternatively, you could talk to Surrey Off Road,(http://www.surreyoff-road.com) they know all about jeeps.

you can buy off ebay some 2" poly spacers that sit at the top of your front coil spring and that will give you the lift that you require, but be advised that the new leaf springs that you have on the rear will eventually settle a bit and you then might find that the 2" will be too much, then you might need to change them to 1" spacers, i have them on my 2000 xj cherokee and 1" was enough to level the cars ride hight.
If you search on uk ebay and dont find them search the states ebay, as the yanks make crap loads of stuff for the xj but import costs have to be taken into account and then customs fees as well.

Hi. If you go to difflock.com you will find on the forums there a spot dedicated to jeeps. They have loads of information and generally a helpful bunch.
